Keith Hamilton is a clinical psychology PhD candidate at Simon Fraser University providing assessment and treatment in-person and virtually at the North Shore Stress and Anxiety Clinic. At this time, he works under the supervision of a registered psychologist.

Keith specializes in the treatment of anxiety and mood difficulties in adults and older adolescents. He has in-depth training and experience in evidence-based approaches for treating generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, specific phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), coping with chronic health conditions, stress management, and relationship challenges. An additional focus of his practice is working with athletes and performers interested in improving their performance or mental health.

Keith works collaboratively with each client to come up with a personalized plan to help reach their short and long-term goals. He provides a combination of support, encouragement, and practical strategies for building awareness and better managing difficult thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Keith takes a curious, inclusive, and non-judgmental approach to this work to ensure that clients feel supported throughout the process. He uses a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach and incorporates strategies from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Keith is also a professional member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA).

Keith completed a CPA-accredited pre-doctoral residency with the Saskatchewan Health Authority with a focus on assessment and treatment in community-based and rehabilitation centre settings working with diverse clients experiencing PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression, and adjustment to significant chronic health conditions (e.g., stroke, amputation, chronic pain). Prior to residency, he completed training at UBC Hospital, Vancouver Anxiety Centre, Back in Motion, and the SFU Clinical Psychology Centre.

Outside of work, Keith enjoys spending most of his time doing classic Vancouver things like spending time outdoors or exploring new food spots. He is a former high-level athlete who has developed a passion for endurance sports such as running, cycling, swimming, and triathlon.
