We offer specialized psychiatric consultation and treatment for individuals facing complex mental health challenges.
Our psychiatry service offers diagnosis, psychoeducation, and medication consultation for a wide range of conditions in children, adolescents, and adults under the age of 55.
What to expect
Our psychiatry service is primarily consultative.
We provide specialty medical/psychiatric consultations for patients with follow-up care (including medication refills) being provided by the general practitioners (GPs).
These consultations will typically be single appointments.
Appropriate referrals
In children and adolescents, we accept referrals for anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), depression, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), sleep problems, and Bipolar Disorder.
In adults (under age 55), we accept referrals for a range of issues including mild to moderate anxiety and depression, OCD, and ADHD. In the case of ADHD, the diagnosis must already have been given by a recognized expert.
Integrated psychiatric and psychological care
At NSSAC, we value a collaborative approach to mental health care.
Our psychiatric service works closely with our team of psychologists and therapists to ensure you receive comprehensive and coordinated care. This integration allows for a seamless transition between therapy and medication management, ensuring all aspects of your mental health are addressed.
