Specialist in CBT and ACT for Anxiety, Depression, and Chronic Pain
Dr. Ginting has been a Licensed Psychologist in BC since 2015. She practices Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her main areas of practice are helping adults with depression, anxiety (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Health Anxiety), chronic pain, and helping individuals who have experienced a motor vehicle accident. Additionally, she also helps individuals experiencing distress associated with stressful life events by focusing on problem-solving, assertive communication skills, and assistance in processing the meaning of life events. Education is an important part of Dr. Ginting’s approach to help people understand and demystify their psychological and emotional experiences, fostering empowerment and insight throughout the therapy process.
Educational Background and Clinical Experience
Dr. Ginting completed her Master’s and PhD in Clinical Psychology at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. Her doctoral dissertation examined the impact of various types of support on outcomes in individuals with Urogenital Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndromes. She completed her pre-doctoral residency at The Ottawa Hospital assessing and treating adults in respiratory rehabilitation, young adults with early psychosis, and co-facilitated a group therapy. Prior to relocating to the lower mainland, Dr. Ginting worked in private practice in Ottawa, ON helping individuals cope with psychological and emotional difficulties following a motor vehicle accident.
Outside of Work
When not working, Dr. Ginting enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, watching baseball, and exploring the outdoors. She is also a small business owner; she co-owns a dog-hiking service and can occasionally be found on the trails with her partner and a pack of enthusiastic canines!
